As a CAMERA OPERATOR and STEADICAM OPERATOR, his approach on every project is that each story deserves its own visual style and that everything, including the cinematography, should only be there to serve the story, not distract from it. He loves to partner with Directors, Prodcuers, and DPs as their vision ally. His positive attitude and work ethic have created lasting relationships and repeat clients.
Nathan's passion for imagery began as a kid with an old 35mm Olympus OM-1 that he received from his grandma. He found film's texture and depth magical. It was an internship in high school at a local TV studio where he discovered that he belonged behind the camera. He moved to a paid position and quickly worked his way to lead camera operator .
After shooting and editing full-time for over a decade at various companies, he began working exclusively as a freelancer in 2012. Since then Nathan has had the opportunity to operate on features like The Ultimate Playlist of Noise, Midas Man, American Pie Presents: Girls' Rules, and A Personal Pandemic, shows like AMC's Fear the Walking Dead, ABC's Grey's Anatomy, Netflix's Arsenio! Live, PopTV's Swedish Dicks, HBOMax's Full Bloom, and NBC's Titan Games, commercial projects for brands like Reebok, Facebook, Wells Fargo, Amazon, and United Health Care, and various documentary films, short films, and music videos. He is a member of the International Cinematographers Guild and an active member of the Society of Camera Operators.
When he's not working, you may find him with his family or wandering the trails of the Sierra Nevada Mountains.
